Christy Allen




Christy Allen, L.Ac., Dipl.O.M. is a compassionate healer, and an inspired voice for improvement of the social and environmental determinants of health and peace in our world. For nearly 20 years, she has led the development of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in the US as a primary form of health and wellness care, and is admired as a clinician, teacher, writer, and advocate for social justice. She holds advanced degrees in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine and Agricultural Economics, and combines these skills to advance Global Health through support of initiatives to restore and develop the latent potential of Traditional Medicine systems around the world. She has served as a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa (Swaziland) and was awarded an FLAS fellowship in African Studies and Languages at Michigan State University. As an AgEconomist, she lived and worked for many years in the Sumatran rainforest and other remote areas of Indonesia with indigenous honey hunters and beekeepers. She has also served as a teacher for the Navajo Nation in Rough Rock, AZ. Her current home and medical practice is in Tucson, AZ, where she also contributes toward the development of Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
